BEGINNERS' OBEDIENCE COURSE

HELD ON : Tuesday evenings 8.00pm - 9.00pm

This six week course follows on from the puppy socialisation course, and is also aimed at new dogs if they are already over six months old. Please see the News / Events page for dates of our courses.
On this course handlers and dogs work towards the Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze Award which they can take if they so desire. Please see the separate section on this Scheme.

As the dogs and handlers progress they will be invited to attend the Novice Class which follows on from this one.

NOVICE OBEDIENCE COURSE

HELD ON : Tuesday evenings 9.00pm - 10.00pm

This class follows on from the Beginners' course. Here you will reinforce the training started in the beginners' class and progress on and include additional exercises such as send-aways and longer stays. At the end of this course you should be confident enough to attempt the Bronze Good Citizen Test. Please see the GCDS page for further details.

INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE COURSE

HELD ON : Monday evenings 7.00pm - 8.00pm

Generally, your dog will need to be able to do a reasonable stay before s/he can join this class. The dogs and handlers will be working towards send-aways, heelwork on and off lead, recalls, stays etc. You may also do some scent discrimination and tricks from time to time.

Dogs in this class will be aiming for the Silver and Gold Good Citizen Dog Scheme Awards. Please see the GCDS page for further details.

We enjoy training our dogs, but our obedience training is more for the pet owner rather than the serious obedience competitor (however, several of our handlers and dogs successfully compete at Exemption Shows). Our aim is for you to enjoy a well-behaved pet that you can be proud of and take anywhere with you.

Please see the News / Events section for the dates of these courses for the current year.

As in the Puppy Class we can only accept dogs with a sound temperament on these courses. We can, however, offer private training or guidance for other dogs.
