Welcome to Capable Canines Cornwall
All dogs are welcome at Capable Canines Cornwall, whether small, large, crossbreed or pedigree, as are all sorts of owners! Capable Canines offers the pet dog owner a choice of Puppy Socialisation, Companion Dog classes, Relationship Building, Rally and Agility training. Please see the Classes page for full details of what is available. If you prefer we can arrange one-to-one training at your own home to cater for the individual needs of your dog.
Occasional walks and a variety of other activities, such as talks, workshops or extra training sessions for other disciplines, as well as the enjoyable Christmas party are not to be missed! Please check the News and Events sections regularly for more information.
We aim to make our training fun and it is all based on praise and reward. Handlers should come equipped with a supply of very tasty treats and a toy. Whatever you use it must be really, really interesting to your dog. Dry biscuits are not usually a strong enough lure to coax your dog away from his new-found friends! Dogs should wear flat collars and the lead should be reasonably long and preferably not chain (which can be very hard on your hands!). Please note we do not approve of the use of check chains or other aversive training methods.
All puppies in training with us must be vaccinated and certificates shown upon registration.
Bitches in season will not be able to attend training classes or tests. If your bitch comes into season during a course, she will need to be kept away for at least three weeks and longer if necessary. If you let us know if your bitch comes into season, we will offer you credits for up to three classes you miss that you have already paid for.
Dogs with, or suspected of having, any contagious disease will not be accepted at class until given the all-clear by their vet.
