Welcome to Capable Canines Cornwall
Jackie and Terry Lawer have run Capable Canines Cornwall for over 15 years now and offered many classes such as Puppy Socialisation, Companion Dog classes, Relationship Building, Rally and Agility training in South East Cornwall. However, following a move further West in Cornwall, a considerable downsize has taken place!
Agility workshops are still being held on an occasional basis at Polean Farm, Pelynt PL3 2LX – generally once a month and occasional other workshops hosted by Capable Canines Cornwall with other guest instructors.
Jackie is also now working in conjunction with Sharon Cann of Mad Dogs Agility and Training based near Camborne. She will be offering some short courses and workshops from time to time.
We aim to make our training fun and it is all based on praise and reward. Handlers should come equipped with a supply of very tasty treats and a toy. Whatever you use it must be really, really interesting to your dog. Dogs should wear flat collars and the lead should be reasonably long and preferably not chain (which can be very hard on your hands!). Please note we do not approve of the use of check chains or other aversive training methods.
All puppies in training with us must be vaccinated and certificates shown upon registration.
Bitches in season will not be able to attend training.
Dogs with, or suspected of having, any contagious disease will not be accepted at any workshops until given the all-clear by their vet.
If you are unable to attend a workshop or event you have booked, please contact us in the first instance to see if we have a waiting list. If we are able to fill your space we should be able to offer you a credit or refund. If we cannot fill your place, with our agreement you may sell it but only to a handler and dog of similar experience ensuring they are of a suitable level to match the group.
